As brands grapple with the unintended consequences of COVID-19, delivering an exceptional customer experience is more important than ever before.

And with the surge in online shopping expected to continue for much of the foreseeable future, providing an engaging, personalized, and seamless online shopping experience needs to be a-top your list of priorities. One of the ways major brands like Louis Vuitton, Ray-Ban, and Franklin Sports are achieving this is by offering online product customization and product personalization through their direct-to-consumer ecommerce sites.

To better understand the role of product customization and product personalization in ecommerce, ConfigureID and Astound Commerce recently conducted a 35-question survey of 500 online shoppers in the U.S. The shoppers surveyed represent a range of different age groups as well as household income levels, and have all participated in at least one online product configuration experience in the last 12 months.
